My maps and more current information will be available there.
| ... A Proud Geographer |

|
| Chichen Itzá (Yucatán Peninsula) |
Welcome to my site! The main purpose for building
this page is because of one of my greatest passions, geography. This will serve also as an introduction of
myself to future employers. Here you will find among other things my Resume, professional interests and/or coursework, academic
projects, maps, and links relating to my personal interests.
Please take your time in reading through and do not
refrain in writing me your critics, opinions, or recommendations to my e-mail, because I seriously believe that
everyone has "something to say" and that every opinion counts.
Thanks for your time and enjoy.

Interesting Citation...
"As a young man, my fondest dream was to become a geographer.
However while working in the customs office I thought deeply about the matter and concluded that it was far too difficult
a subject. With some reluctance, I then turned to physics as a substitute."

...So Who am I?
My name is Francisco Jiménez and I was born on February 26, 1975 in the city of Cádiz. This
small city is located in the southern coast of Spain and is truly a beautiful place. Because my parents are originally from
Puerto Rico I moved and lived in the island for more than 15 years.
I have traveled a lot thanks in part for my 2 years in the US Navy. Among the places I have visited
are Singapore, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, and Hawaii.
I did my MS in Geography at the University of Akron where I graduated on May 2004. Following
my graduation I married my beautiful wife in Bali, Indonesia, a wonderful island with the friendliest of people. Since
then The University of Puerto Rico has been my home. Here I teach undergraduate courses in GIS, Cartography, and Remote
Sensing, and I also manage the Cartographic and spatial analysis computer lab.
